PLEASE READ: Note on Scam Social Media Accounts and Website

Over the last few months we have had various reports of various scamming accounts being created on our social media accounts, as well as copy cat websites. With this becoming more of an issues over the last month, we would like to make a few notes about how to avoid falling victim to these scammers.

The reports that we have received from users that have become victims where found in the following ways:

SCAM SITE: URL ShapeShit.io Scamming Users

Please note, it has been reported that there is a scamming website called "ShapeShit.io" ("Shit" instead of "Shift"). This website mirrors the ShapeShift front page and provides the same bitcoin deposit address to every users so users will deposit bitcoin into their account, but they do not exchange the funds. SCAM ALERT! Fake ShapeShift Twitter Account Offering BTC for Survey Answers

It has come to our attention that a fake Twitter account has been created that mirrors the actual ShapeShift Twitter account. The users of this account are reaching out to twitter users and asking them to take a survey to receive double back on your next shift.

SCAM ALERT! Fake Erik Voorhees Twitter Account Offering Double Amount for Survey Responses

It has come to our attention that a fake Twitter account has been created that mirrors our CEO Erik Voorhees's account. The users of this account are reaching out to various people and asking "Would you like to fill out a short survey about your experience with ShapeShift, and then get double the amount on your next shift?"

 

BE AWARE: Scam "Copy Cat" Sites

It has come to our attention that there are two scam "copy cat" ShapeShift site circulating with some of our customers. It is important to always make sure that you check the URL and make sure that the information is ShapeShift, and is also a https secure site. The site are as follows:
