Meet the Artist Working at the Forefront of Crypto

“The same fire burns within all of us. It’s just expressed a little bit differently.” -Tatiana Moroz

Tatiana Moroz is an American folk singer-songwriter who uses art as a platform to advocate for cryptocurrency adoption. We recently caught up with Tatiana to explore the relationship between cryptocurrency and the arts.

Despite being at the forefront of blockchain technology, Moroz is someone that values authentic, human connection. “I’ve worked hard to build good relationships as an artist,” she says, “so, ever since I’ve been so ensconced in the industry, my work allows me to leverage those relationships.” Because of this, it’s only natural that she began to seek out a way to engage and connect with her audience while also providing fans with a way to support her music.

She pursued this goal for years. So when she discovered bitcoin it all came together. “[Bitcoin] was a way to let people support the true, authentic work I wanted to make, and take a principled stand for a new form of currency,” she says.

In 2014, Moroz created Tatiana Coin, the first musical artist coin – the alpha for the concept of artist coins that helps to breaks down corporate walls to create pathways for communication and engagement between creators and supporters. “Some friends approached me about doing Tatiana Coin,” she says, “and at first, I thought it was a joke, but its the first-ever artist cryptocurrency that aims to show a new model for artist funding.”

Moroz believes that cryptocurrency helps to “equalize the playing field,” and today, she actively champions for other artists to join the cryptocurrency ecosystem. “Artists bring experiences to the table that can help coders and the people that are on the business side of this industry with some of the challenges that exist in its current iteration,” she says, “That’s why the way that we build our projects is more in line with what artists actually want.”

In 2017, Moroz recorded her third album, titled Keep the Faith (a title that was inspired by learning to be resilient as a result). The album’s final track, titled, “The Bitcoin Jingle” is indicative of her passion for combining her creative talents with the world of cryptocurrency (we were lucky enough to film Moroz singing the song. Watch it all here).

In the last year, Moroz has continued to combine her passions for crypto and music while leveraging relationships to work on new projects. For example, in February 2019, she launched Proof of Love, a relationship podcast that aims to teach its listeners how to better relate to one another and grow emotional intelligence (in addition to her weekly podcast, The Tatiana Show).

We can’t wait to see what Tatiana Moroz is up to next.
